Invitations and unique gifts

IMG_20150423_133514356Invitation Service

I am now offering an Encaustic Art Invitation service for Weddings and other celebrations.  Encaustic art is a vibrant artform and each card will be individually painted and mounted into an aperture card of your choice.  I can keep the design as an abstract in colour/s of your choice or you may choose a more specific design.  Encaustic art lends itself to producing invitations as you can paint a number of similar and yet unique pieces in your chosen theme or colour in a fairly short time.  You can even come here and paint them yourself!  As this is such an individual service, email me for more details.  Pricesfrom around £3 per card depending on quantity.

Unique gifts including Commissioned work

I have an etsy shop where I am building up products in the Curly Girly Craft range, these are mainly jewellery but also enamelled pictures and in the future other items made from felt etc.  My Etsy shop is CurlyGirlyCraftsUK.

From time to time you want something specific made and you can’t find it in the shops.  The rest of this page is dedicated to some of those projects I have taken on, I really enjoy the challenge.

Canada and U.K Union earrings

Left:  Margot’s British/Canada earrings prior to firing.  These are made from silver clay which when fired is 99.9% silver, I then enamelled them.

Right:  The finished earrings.

The New Zealand Project

I was asked to make a pair of earrings in the shape of the New Zealand Islands and engraved with NZ 2013 for a gift.  I made a few prototypes but in the end, I went with the design below, which reflected both the islands on each ear!

Above left: Making the prototypes. Right the finished pieces made from Silver Clay and then enamelled.

Sarah Kitchener Perrow Project (Brain Tumour Charity)

In October I was commissioned to make an enamelled butterfly brooch to replicate the logo of the Sarah Kitchen Perrow Fund – which raises funds for the Brain Tumour Charity in her memory.

Above left: The logo template and below it the clay ready to fire.  Right:  The finished pieces (I made 2 to get the colour right) below the original logo.

Lampwork Bracelet in neutral tones

Hayley’s Flamework Bracelet.  Each bead was hand-crafted using my Flamework torch and then made into a bracelet, commissioned by Wendy Bishop. Many thanks!

The Birthday project: As part of my 30 tenth year (ok, 40th) I’ve been designing and making a series of Flamework beads that I have then made into jewellery for each of my 40th birthday friends. The Macrame bracelet was made for several of them.  I got each friend to tell me their favourite colour and then I also wrote them a little piece about what each colour meant.

I’ve had several commissions for this type of bracelet already and you can do this via my shop page, this will enable you to choose the main bead colour.  Each bead can take me up to 30 minutes to make, so ensure you give me plenty of notice, if possible.  Or book a Flamework class and make the beads yourself!

Lampwork Necklace for Kirsty.

Enamelled VW!

I enamelled (fused glass to copper) this VW camper van tile for Alison’s 40th, if you look closely the number plate says Ali 40!  It took many firings to get to this final stage.
