School Projects and After School Clubs
I am currently working on ideas for projects with schools where I go in and either teach the teachers, or work with a group of children on specific projects linked to the curriculum (most specifically Design and Technology). This includes crafts such as Encaustic Art, Polymer clay, Enamelling and Felt making. If you are interested please contact me for more details and costs but as a rough idea I charge £25 per hour plus consumables and travel (day rates also available)
I have already run a few projects in schools, including, most recently working with a Year 2 class at Gosbecks Primary School, Colchester where we linked Encaustic Art to the Giraffe Project celebrating 50 years of Colchester Zoo. The children used their Encaustic art work to create giraffe themed collages. I have also worked with Howbridge Junior School in Witham, who received the Gold standard Award from the Arts Council for their art projects; including my Encaustic art sessions with the children, so well done to everyone involved! Here are a few pictures of the work that the children and teachers achieved in their Encaustic Art sessions!
Brownies, Guides and Youth Groups
I have run numerous projects with the Brownies, including Encaustic Art sessions and in 2010 I was lucky enough to take part in the WOW event to celebrate 100 years of Guiding, this took place at the Tendring show ground. I ran several sessions covering a range of cardmaking techniquess: iris folding, quilling and also making a specially designed card to celebrate the event.
I can offer lots of different activities to Brownies and Guides, so do please get in touch if there’s anything that interests you! I can teach Encaustic Art, Felting, Polymer Clay, Cardmaking, Dreamcatchers…
I have organised a number of workshops with Community Groups such as St Helena Hospice, where I have run Encaustic art sessions for the day care patients and more recently with a younger group there who meet regulary on a Monday.
In December I ran my first Community project with the Colchester Housing Project, this was based on the theme of Christmas and was held for families in the Layer area to get to know each other. I hope to do more projects with CHP later in the year.

I’ve now done a number of classes with the W.I and other ladies groups. This includes Feltmaking (needle felting), iris folded cards and Encaustic Art.
